- Name the organisations that regulate the following media forms:
- Film
- TV & Radio
- Advertising
- Newspapers & Magazines
- Video Games
- Explain what a POSTMODERNIST film is. What features would it include?
In Britain films, TV and other media are regulated by the British Board of film classification
How do the BBFC classify films?
All films rated by the BBFC receive a certificate, along with "consumer advice" detailing references to sex, violence and coarse language. If a certificate specifies that a film or video game is only suitable for someone over a certain age, then only those over that age may buy it.
A Postmodernist film is a film that challenges
normal film stereo types. The Lego Movie is
a postmodernist film because there are lots
of things in it that wouldn't be considered
"normal" like how the main character isn't
special and the sidekick is better than the
main character. It also brakes the 4th wall
at the end when Emmet leaves his world
and he sees humans walking around.
Great definition of Postmodernism.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the research into the other regulators though?
